Mexico’s economy secretariat, SE, imposed this week definite anti-dumping (AD) duties on imports of sheet plate from Japan and Italy. Italian exporters Ferriera, Metinvest and others will pay a $0.023/kg or a $23/mt AD duty, while all Japanese exports will pay a $0.236/kg or a $236/mt duty.
Italian and Japanese exporters producing specific grades of sheet plate, with a width greater than 120 inches, as well as those under the API 5L X-70 specification, among others, are exempt from the AD duties.
The AD duties were effective on May 1, 2019. The products subject to the duties fall under HTS codes 7208.51.01, 7208.51.02, 7208.51.03, 7208.52.01 and 7225.40.99.
