Mexico’s economy secretariat, SE, announced on Tuesday it extended for five more years existing countervailing duties (CVD) applied to the Russian imports of both alloy and nonalloy rolled steel plate, following a request from local producers Ternium Mexico and AHMSA.
According to a notice published on Tuesday at the country’s official gazette, the 29.3 percent CVD will be applied to the Russian imports of rolled steel plate, including those with thicknesses equal to or above 4.75mm, but inferior to 10mm, and with widths greater than 600mm and containing not less than 0.0008 percent of boron.
The five-year timeline will be counted from June 8, 2016 onward.
The products subject to the duties fall under the Customs Tariff Statistics Position Numbers 7208.10.02, 7208.25.99, 7208.37.01 and 7225.30.03.
The existing CVD orders were extended following the conclusion by SE of a review into the Russian imports of rolled steel plate.
