Mexican economic activity up in January

Mexican economic activity in January rose 1.1 percent, year-on-year, according to data released on Friday by the nation’s statistics agency, Inegi. Primary and secondary activities in January dropped 1.3 and 0.3 percent, year-on-year. Tertiary activities in the first month of the year increased 2 percent, year-on-year.

On a monthly analysis, primary activities in January improved 1.3 percent, month-on-month, while secondary activities in the same period was stable with zero growth. Tertiary activities in January dropped 0.4 percent, month-on-month.
