The Russian steel products supplier Metallinvest has announced that on March 30 this year it officially opened its new hollow sections production plant in the Russian city of Nizhny Tagil, having already started operations, with the first products produced in February this year.
Accordingly, at maximum speed, the plant's production capacities are able to produce 45 m of pipe per minute and up to 10 mt per hour.
The new hollow sections plant is Metallinvest's third production facility. In 2011, the plant is expected to produce 80,000 mt of products, while in 2012 its output is planned to be increased to 150,000 mt. The hollow sections are to be supplied both to the domestic and export markets.
In late 2011, Metallinvest plans to commission one more production line at the plant.
