On June 13, Iran and Pakistan finalized a major pipeline deal worth $7 billion to carry Iranian natural gas to Pakistan, international news sources quoting Iran's state television said.

Iranian exports will begin in 2014 after the construction of the 1,200 kilometer pipeline has been completed on the Iranian side, Iranian state television said, adding that over 25 years Iran will export one million cubic meters of natural gas to Pakistan per day.

The pipeline will connect Iran's giant South Fars gas field with Pakistan's southern Baluchistan and Sindh provinces. The project was initially expected to include India, but the country preferred to stay out.
