Linde India bags award from SAIL for construction, operate, maintain cryogenic oxygen plant

Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) has awarded a contract for construct, operate and maintain (COM) of a cryogenic oxygen plant to industrial gas major, Linde India, a statement of the latter said on Monday, August 28.

Under the COM contract, Linde India will construct 1,000 mt per day cryogenic oxygen unit at SAIL’s Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) and operate and maintain it for 20 years from date of commissioning of the unit, with provision of another five-year extension.

The amount of investment riding on the gas plant was not disclosed by either SAIL or Linde India.
