Kia sees 10 percent increase in production in Mexico in 2023

The Mexican unit of South Korea-based Kia Corporation forecast a 10 percent increase in its production volume in Mexico, reported the newspaper Reforma today, citing the general director of Kia Motors Mexico, Horacio Chavez.

Data from the Mexican Association of the Automotive Industry (AMIA) ranks Kia Mexico as the sixth largest vehicle producer in the country, with a 6.7 percent market share.

The executive forecast an annual increase of 12.6 percent in the volume of retail vehicle sales in Mexico to reach around 98,000 units in 2023.

Data from the Mexican Association of Vehicle Distributors (AMDA) places Kia Mexico as the fourth largest marketer of new vehicles in the country with a market share of 7.4 percent. It is surpassed by Volkswagen with 8.3 percent, General Motors with 12.1 percent and Nissan with 18.1 percent.
