Statistics Canada reported Monday that number of new motor vehicles sold rose 10.8 percent to 141,882 units in June, offsetting losses the previous two months. However, preliminary data indicate that auto sales fell 6 percent in July.
Both passenger and truck sales were up, increasing 12.9 percent and 9.3 percent, respectively in July. Sales of North American-built passenger cars bounced back from May in June, rising 20.7 percent.
