Jiyu Steel Co. to commission tinplate production facilities in Sept

Tianjin-based steel producer Jiyu Steel Co. plans to carry out trial production at its new tinplate facilities in August this year, with official commissioning due to take place in September, according to Chinese media reports. The designed annual output capacity of the tinplate facilities is 300,000 mt.

The tinplate production facilities constitute the first phase of an overall steel sheet project being implemented by Jiyu Steel with a total investment of RMB1.3 billion ($ 205.7 million) for an annual production capacity of 1,200,000 mt including tinplate, cold rolled sheet, non-grain-oriented electrical steel sheet, grain-oriented electrical steel sheet, and other steel sheet products.
