Japan's steel output increases in July

Japan's crude steel production rose 4.5 percent year on year to 9.86 million metric tons in July, the Japan Iron and Steel Federation said. In addition, crude steel output indicated a 1.4 percent rise compared to the previous month. For the first seven months of 2006, crude steel production reached 66.84 million metric tons, up 1.0 percent year on year.
