Japan’s auto output up 19.0 percent in H1

According to the data provided by the Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association (JAMA), in June this year Japanese automobile production (including passenger cars, trucks and buses) totaled 763,470 units, rising by 14.2 percent compared to the same month of 2022. Meanwhile, in the January-June period, Japanese automobile production grew by 19.01 percent year on year to 4,323,975 units.

Domestic automobile sales in June in Japan stood at 392,719 vehicles, rising by 19.8 percent as compared with the same month of 2022. Meanwhile, in the first six months, domestic automobile sales in Japan moved up by 17.5 percent year on year to 2,450,600 units.    

In the meantime, the country’s automobile exports in June amounted to 408,641 units, up by 32.5 percent year on year. In the January-June period, Japanese automobile exports grew by 16.8 percent year on year to 2,023,425 units.
