In November this year, Japanese crude steel production was down three percent compared to the previous month and increased one percent compared to November last year, totaling 8.70 million mt, according to the data released by the Japan Iron and Steel Federation (JISF).
Meanwhile, in November of the current year Japan's pig iron production totaled 6.42 million metric tons, decreasing by 2.2 percent compared to the previous month and increasing by 0.5 percent year on year.
In the first 11 months of this year, the country's pig iron output stood at 71.75 million metric tons, down 2.5 percent, while its crude steel production came to 95.94 million metric tons, falling 0.1 percent, both on year-on-year basis.
