Japanese auto output up 17.7 percent in January-July

According to the data provided by the Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association (JAMA), in July this year Japanese automobile production (including passenger cars, trucks and buses) totaled 778,244 units, rising by 11.2 percent compared to the same month of 2022. Meanwhile, in the January-July period, Japanese automobile production grew by 17.7 percent year on year to 5,102,219 units.

Domestic automobile sales in July in Japan stood at 379,052 vehicles, rising by 8.5 percent as compared with the same month of 2022. Meanwhile, in the first seven months, domestic automobile sales in Japan moved up by 16.2 percent year on year to 2,829,652 units.

In the meantime, the country’s automobile exports in July amounted to 396,705 units, up by 11.1 percent year on year. In the January-July period Japanese automobile exports grew by 15.8 percent year on year to 2,420,130 units.
