Japanese auto output up 13.4 percent in January

According to the data provided by the Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association (JAMA), in January this year Japanese automobile production (including passenger cars, trucks and buses) totaled 620,474 units, rising by 13.4 percent compared to the same month of 2022.

Domestic automobile sales in the given month in Japan stood at 382,338 vehicles, rising by 16.0 percent as compared with the same month of 2022.

In the meantime, the country’s automobile exports in January amounted to 256,178 units, falling by 4.9 percent year on year.
