Japanese auto output remains unchanged in 2022

According to the data provided by the Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association (JAMA), in December last year Japanese automobile production (including passenger cars, trucks and buses) totaled 699,027 units, rising by 1.6 percent compared to the same month of 2021. Meanwhile, in 2022, Japanese automobile production remained almost unchanged at 7,835,519 units compared to 7,846,958 units recorded in 2021.

Domestic automobile sales in December last year in Japan stood at 344,364 vehicles, rising by 2.4 percent as compared with the same month of 2021. Meanwhile, in the full year, domestic automobile sales in Japan fell by 5.6 percent year on year to 4,201,320 units.

In the meantime, the country’s automobile exports in December amounted to 356,975 units, falling by 6.5 percent year on year. In the given year Japanese automobile exports dropped by 0.1 percent year on year to 3,813,269 units.
