In September this year, Italian crude steel output decreased by 3.9 percent year on year to 2.083 million metric tons, while in the first nine months of the year the output figure amounted to 16.728 million mt, down 8.8 percent year on year, according to the figures released by the Italian steel producers association Federacciai. The decrease recorded in September followed a slight year-on-year increase of 1.3 percent recorded in August this year after 10 months of year-on-year decreases.
Italian crude steel output in September of the current year was also lower compared to the crude steel outputs of 2.289 million mt in September 2010, 2.566 million mt in September 2011, 2.378 million mt in September 2012, and 2.147 million mt in September 2013.
