In October this year, Italian producers' crude steel output increased by 1.1 percent year on year to 2.299 million metric tons, as announced by the Italian steel association Federacciai.
October's output volume is also higher compared to the 2.145 million mt recorded in October 2016, the 1.915 million mt recorded in October 2015, the 2.047 million mt registered in October 2014 and the 2.221 million mt produced in the same month of 2013.
In the January-October period this year, Italian crude steel output amounted to 20.615 million mt, up 2.7 percent year on year.
Meanwhile, in the first nine months of the current year Italy's long steel output amounted to 9.238 million metric tons, increasing by 5.5 percent year on year. In the same period, Italian flat steel output totaled 8.364 million metric tons, decreasing by 0.9 percent year on year.
