In November this year, crude steel production in Italy amounted to 2.184 million metric tons, up 3.3 percent year on year, as announced by the Italian steel producers association Federacciai.
Italian crude steel output had increased also in June, July, August, September and October this year, all on year-on-year basis.
In the January-November period of the current year, Italian crude steel production amounted to 22.259 million metric tons, rising by 3.1 percent year on year. With December's output, Italian crude steel production for the whole year should be higher than the 23 million mt recorded in 2016, and could also exceed 24 million mt.
Meanwhile, in October this year, Italy's long steel output amounted to 1,192,000 metric tons, increasing by 3.4 percent, while Italian flat steel output totaled 1,002,000 metric tons, decreasing by 4.0 percent, both year on year.
