India’s NMDC inks pact with IIMT to undertake research on pneumatic characteristics of iron ore

India’s state run miner NMDC Limited has inked an agreement with Institute of Mineral and Materials Technology (IMMT), a laboratory under government’s Central Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) to undertake research and analysis of iron ore characteristics, a NMDC statement said on Wednesday, June 28.

Under the agreement, the combine of the miner and research institute will undertake research on behaviour of iron ore fines, and iron ore concentrates in pneumatic, that is air assisted, transport pipeline system and attempt establish the design parameters for inter or intra plant pipeline transportation of iron ore.

NMDC said that the significance of collaboration between industry and research organisations to solve operational issues leading to value addition and evolve efficient processes for the mining industry.
