India’s coking coal port import traffic up 10% in April-August

India’s coking coal import traffic through all major ports in the country in the April-August period of the current fiscal year 2023-24 has been provisionally estimated at 25.50 million mt, up 9.94 percent year on year, according to data sourced from the Indian Ports Association (IPA) on Tuesday, September 5.

As per the calculations of SteelOrbis, inward shipment of coking coal in August stood at 5.34 million mt, against 5.175 million mt in July this year.

Total freight traffic of iron ore including pellets was recorded at 22.011 million mt in the April-August period, up 31.18 percent year on year, according to the IPA data.
