India considers imposing countervailing duty on steel from China

India’s Finance Ministry is considering the recommendation of the Directorate General of Trade Remedies’ (DGTR) regarding the imposition of countervailing duties on imports of steel from China, according to media reports. The ministry’s final decision on the duties is awaited.

On June 5, the DGRT also proposed a 19 percent countervailing duty on imports of stainless steel flat products, as SteelOrbis previously reported.
