Major Chinese steel producer Hebei Iron and Steel Group has announced that the first batch of tin mill black plate (TMBP) has been produced at the 150,000 mt capacity cold rolling continuous annealing mill of its subsidiary Hengshui Strip Rolling Co. The batch in question consists of 300 mt of food grade T4CA TMBP with thickness of 0.168-0.176 mm.
The products in question will be used to produce food and beverage cans. Up to now, domestic producers of cans have purchased TMBP from Baosteel and from overseas suppliers.
