Sweden-based H2 Green Steel has announced that it has signed a seven-year agreement worth €1.5 billion with German automotive system supplier ZF to supply near-zero emissions steel as of 2026.
ZF annually processes around 2.5 million mt of steel and this agreement covers a significant share of its yearly steel volumes, in line with the company’s aim to become climate neutral by 2040.
The agreement is expected to reduce carbon emissions by approximately 2.3 million mt compared to traditional steelmaking processes.
