Global stainless steel output up 5.5 percent in Q1

In the first quarter this year, world stainless crude steel output decreased by 1.3 percent quarter on quarter to 14.58 million mt, while increasing by 5.5 percent compared to the same quarter of the previous year, according to the preliminary report released by the International Stainless Steel Forum (ISSF).

According to the ISSF data, in the first quarter this year, stainless crude steel production increased by 2.1 percent in China and by 12.9 percent in the Asia region excluding China and South Korea, while rising by 6.5 percent in the US and down by 4.8 percent in Europe, all compared to the first quarter of 2022.
