Gerdau starts production at new meltshop in Santa Fe supplied by Danieli

Italian plantmaker Danieli has announced that Brazilian steelmaker Gerdau has started production at its new meltshop, located in Santa Fe, Argentina, supplied by Danieli.

For Gerdau’s green-field meltshop, Danieli has supplied all the main technological and auxiliary equipment, including a new electric arc furnace, a ladle furnace, a complete material handling system, a three-strand continuous caster and a complete water treatment plant.

The new plant has an annual nominal capacity of about 650,000 mt of 130 mm square billets in low and medium carbon steel.
