France's manufacturing output in February this year decreased by 0.6 percent month on month, after a 0.9 percent month-on-month fall in January, and was down 0.5 percent year on year, according to the statistics released by France's National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies (INSEE). In the December-February period, France’s manufacturing output indicated a decrease of 0.3 percent compared to the previous quarter.
In February, France's production in manufacture of basic metals and fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment, increased by 1.6 percent compared to January, after remaining stable month on month in January. In the December-February period, the country’s production in manufacture of basic metals and fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment, decreased by 0.7 percent compared to the previous quarter.
On the other hand, in February production of France's motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers industry saw a decrease of 1.3 percent on month-on-month basis after a 3.7 percent month-on-month fall recorded in the previous month, while the output of the domestic construction industry increased by 8.1 percent month on month in the given month after a decrease of 3.6 percent in January from December. In the December-February period, output of the motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers industry increased by two percent and output of the domestic construction industry rose by 0.3 percent, both quarter on quarter.
