Explosive growth for Turkey’s automotive exports

Led by passenger car exports totaling $634.98 million, Turkey's automotive exports rose 61% to $2.42 billion during the first two months of 2005; February alone saw an export rise of 92% year-on-year. For the January-February 2005 period, the Turkish automotive sector exported to a total of 140 countries and self-governing territories, as well as13 free zones. Germany was Turkey's largest export market, absorbing $331.57 million worth of automotive exports. Next were France, Italy, the UK, Poland and Spain.
