Evraz may buy Altai-Koks from NLMK

It has been reported that Russian steel producer Novolipetsk Steel (NLMK) may sell its subsidiary Altai-Koks to Evraz Group.

In response to questions from SteelOrbis on the issue, Evraz said that the company does not comment on market rumors.

However, market experts believe that this rumor might have solid grounds since NLMK is able to satisfy its coke needs without using Altai-Koks' product, which therefore mostly goes for export. On the other hand, Evraz's subsidiaries such as ZapSib and NTMK are in very close proximity to Altai-Koks and this fact may be decisive for Evraz.
