In August this year, new commercial vehicle registrations in the European Union (EU) rose by 7.3 percent year on year, following 2.3 percent increase in July and showed the fifth consecutive month of growth, according to the European Automobile Manufacturers' Association (ACEA).
In August, among the five big markets, Spain (18.0%), France (13.3%) and Germany (11.7%) recorded the highest gains, while the United Kingdom (2.4%) and Italy (1.7%) showed more modest growth, all year on year.
In the first eight months of this year, new commercial vehicle registrations in the EU totaled almost 1.6 million units, up 4.8 percent on year-on-year basis. Spain (10.8%), France (6.0%), Germany (4.4%) and Italy (1.6%) recorded the highest increases, while the UK (-3.0%) market declined, all year on year.
