Turkey's PPGI imports up 109 percent in Jan-Feb

In the first two months of the current year, Turkey's pre-painted galvanized iron (PPGI) imports amounted to 14,293 mt, increasing by 109.48 percent, while the revenue of these imports rose to $14.18 million, up 66.78 percent, both year on year, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). Turkey's PPGI imports in 2013 had totaled 79,312 metric tons.

In February this year, Turkey's PPGI imports rose by 121.07 percent year on year to 8,007 metric tons and were up 27.38 percent month on month. The value of these imports amounted to $8.01 million, up 75.27 percent year on year and increasing by 29.57 percent month on month.
 
In the first two months of 2014, China ranked first among Turkey's PPGI import sources, supplying 9,045 metric tons, up 130.92 percent year on year. China was followed by Belgium and Egypt, with PPGI exports to Turkey amounting to 1,710 metric tons and 1,552 metric tons respectively.
