Turkey's PPGI imports from China down 89% in April from March

In the first four months of the current year, Turkey's pre-painted galvanized iron (PPGI) imports amounted to 21,252 mt, increasing by 31.84 percent, while the revenue of these imports rose to $22.45 million, up 13.39 percent, both year on year, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). Turkey's PPGI imports in 2013 had totaled 79,312 metric tons.

In April this year, Turkey's PPGI imports decreased by 64.35 percent year on year to 1,863 metric tons and were down 63.43 percent month on month. The value of these imports amounted to $2.60 million, down 56.83 percent year on year and decreasing by 54.07 percent month on month.
 
In the first four months of 2014, China ranked first among Turkey's PPGI import sources, supplying 12,575 metric tons, up 56.1 percent year on year. China was followed by Belgium and Italy, with PPGI exports to Turkey amounting to 2,427 metric tons and 2,103 metric tons respectively. Meanwhile, in April, Turkey's PPGI imports from China decreased by 88.84 percent month on month and by 80.98 percent year on year to 491 metric tons.
