EU new car registrations up 10.2 percent in January

In January this year, new car registrations totaled 1,170,220 units in the European Union (EU), increasing 10.2 percent year on year, according to the latest figures issued by the European Automobile Manufacturers' Association (ACEA). 
 
In January, Spain (+10.7%), France (+10.6%), Germany (+10.5%), Italy (+10.1%) and the UK (+2.9%) recorded increases in new car registrations on year-on-year basis.
