Euro area annual inflation stable at 0.2 percent in July

Annual inflation in the euro area was 0.2 percent in July this year, remaining stable compared to June, according to a report released by Eurostat, the Statistical Office of the European Communities. In July 2014, the annual inflation rate was 0.4 percent.
 
Meanwhile, in the European Union (EU-28) annual inflation was 0.1 percent in July, stable compared to June. In July 2014, the annual inflation rate in the EU-28 was 0.5 percent.
 
In July this year, annual inflation in the EU-28 increased in eleven states. The lowest inflation rates were observed in Cyprus (-2.4%), Romania (-1.4%) and Greece (-0.3%), while the highest were observed in Malta (1.2%), Austria (1.1%) and Belgium (0.9%).
