Esfahan Steel commissions third blast furnace

Esfahan Steel has commissioned its third 1.4 million mt annual capacity blast furnace. Officials at the mill stated that they expect the first batch of  cast iron from the blast furnace in question will be produced during the last week of March.

With the third blast furnace up and running and also with the completion of certain other development projects, Esfahan Steel expects to achieve an annual capacity of 3.6 million mt of crude steel in 2009.
