DonetskStal posts reduced production in January-May

In January-May of the current year, Ukraine-based steel mill Donetsk Steel Works (DMZ), a part of the Ukrainian metallurgical company DonetskStal Group, saw its pig iron production fall by 11 percent compared to the same period last year, declining to 470,000 mt, while crude steel output decreased by 24 percent year on year to 193,000 mt. During the period in question, DMZ produced 199,000 mt of finished steel, down 11 percent compared to January-May 2010.

In the given period, coke plants of DonetskStal saw their coke output decline by one percent compared to the same period last year, to 1.132 million mt.
