Brazilian steelmaker Companhia Siderurgica Nacional (CSN) will replace certain electric equipment at its Presidente Vargas mill, the company’s largest, in order to increase energy efficiency.
GE said it will provide a new system, including a 12 megawatts (MW) synchronous engine, a 12 MW generator, as well as a converter, which will supply electricity to CSN’s existing energy complex.
