Brazilian steelmaker Companhia Siderurgica Nacional (CSN) had to evacuate people near certain areas following a gas leakage on Friday. According to a media report by G1, one of the steelmakers’ gas bleeders failed on Friday.

CSN said the “punctual failure” was due to an electricity shortage on Thursday. The company did not immediately respond on Monday to a request for comment.

The media report indicted production was provisionally halted in certain areas near the incident but did not disclose the specific areas.
