CSC’s steel sales volume up 3.6 percent in 2018

Taiwan’s largest steelmaker China Steel Corporation (CSC) has announced that in December last year its carbon steel sales volume totaled 877,638 mt, decreasing by 12.1 percent from November, accounting for 68 percent of domestic sales. In 2018, its carbon steel sales volume amounted to 11,240,999 mt, rising by 3.6 percent year on year, and accounting for 70 percent of domestic sales.

In December, CSC’s operating revenues amounted to NTD 33.25 billion ($1.06 billion), down by four percent compared to November. In the given month, the company’s operating income totaled NTD 2.04 billion ($65.3 million), decreasing by 24 percent from the previous month.

Meanwhile, in 2018, the company’s operating revenues amounted to NTD 400.66 billion ($12.82 billion), up 15 percent year on year, while its operating income for 2018 totaled NTD 33.58 billion ($1.07 billion), rising by 35 percent year on year.
