CSC posts decrease in steel output for January

Taiwan's largest steelmaker China Steel Corporation (CSC) has announced that in January this year its steel production volume totaled 602,937 metric tons, declining 4.1 percent compared to December and down 11.5 percent compared to the same month last year.
     
In January, CSC's sales volume was 651,145 metric tons, down 7.4 percent as compared to December and falling 20 percent year on year.

In the month in question, the steelmaker's sales revenues amounted to NTD 16.01 billion ($541.84 million), decreasing by eight percent month on month and down 16.9 percent year on year.
