Passenger vehicle retail sales in China amounted to 1.256 million units in the September 1-24 period this year, up 13.0 percent year on year, while increasing by 6.0 percent month on month, according to the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA) based on the preliminary statistics.
In the current year up to September 24, passenger vehicle retail sales in China amounted to 14.468 million units, up 3.0 percent year on year.
In the September 1-24 period, new energy passenger vehicle retail sales totaled 508,000 units, up 33.0 percent year on year, while increasing by 11.0 percent month on month.
In the current year up to September 24, new energy passenger vehicle retail sales reached 4.951 million units, up 36.0 percent year on year.
Previously, the government’s stimulus policies to boost the real estate sector raised concerns about the possible impact on vehicle sales, while the performance during September 1-24 showed there was no negative impact. The need to travel during the long National Day holiday (September 29-October 6) will exert a positive impact on vehicle sales.
