Colombian iron and steel exports down 24.7 percent in Jan-Feb

In the first two months this year, Colombia exported 4,650 mt of ferronickel, down 74.6 percent, with a value of $15.16 million, decreasing by 61.2 percent, both year on year, as announced by the Colombian National Administrative Department of Statistics (DANE). In February this year, the country's ferronickel exports amounted to 332 mt, falling by 95.9 percent, while the revenue from these exports was $437,000, down 97.5 percent, both compared to February 2016.
 
In the January-February period, Colombia's iron and steel export volume totaled 17,195 mt, down 24.7 percent, with a value of $30.19 million, declining by 34.6 percent, both on year-on-year basis. In February, Colombian iron and steel exports amounted to 7,750 mt, decreasing by 14.3 percent, and were worth $9.35 million, down 54.7 percent, both compared to the same month of 2016.
