Colombian iron and steel exports down 1.2 percent in Jan-Sept

In the first nine months of this year, Colombia exported 76,142 mt of ferronickel, down 22.4 percent, with a value of $234.79 million, decreasing by 2.5 percent, both year on year, as announced by the Colombian National Administrative Department of Statistics (DANE). In September this year, the country's ferronickel exports amounted to 8,165 mt, falling by 19.5 percent, while the revenue from these exports was $25.65 million, down 10.4 percent, both compared to September 2016.

In the January-September period of this year, Colombia's iron and steel export volume totaled 139,290 mt, down 1.2 percent, with a value of $331.65 million, rising by 12.2 percent, both on year-on-year basis. In September, Colombian iron and steel exports amounted to 15,798 mt, decreasing by 8.4 percent, and were worth $36.92 million, up 0.7 percent, both compared to the same month of 2016.
