According to the data issued by Russia's Association of Commercial Sea Ports, in January this year freight traffic passing through the ports of Russia increased by 2.7 percent year on year to 41.41 million mt. During the period in question, export cargoes handled at Russian ports amounted to 31.2 million mt - down 1.9 percent year on year.
Meanwhile, in January this year, the transshipment of coal through Russia's ports increased by 16.7 percent year on year to 5.43 million mt, while transshipment of ferrous scrap went up by 2.8 times year on year, reaching 0.29 million mt.
