Coal transshipments at Russian seaports up 4.8 percent in Jan-Oct

According to the data issued by the Association of Russian Commercial Sea Ports, in the first 10 months of the current year freight traffic passing through the ports of Russia increased by 6.8 percent year on year to 440.4 million mt. During the period in question, the export cargo handled at Russian ports amounted to 340.25 million mt - up 6.4 percent compared to January-October 2009. 

Meanwhile, in January-October this year, the transshipment of coal through Russia's ports increased by 4.8 percent year on year to 57.72 million mt, while transshipment of ferrous scrap went up by 3.1 percent year on year to 2.33 million mt.
