In June this year, Chusovoy Metallurgical Works, a part of Russia-based OMK Group, increased its rolled steel production by 36 percent compared to May to 15,000 mt, owing to the increased volume of orders from Russian engineering companies.

In July of the current year, Chusovoy Metallurgical Works plans to increase crude steel production by 13 percent compared to June to 17,000 mt. However, production of rolled steel products in July will be decreased by 20 percent from June levels to 12,000 mt due to downtime at the mill 550. During this period, rolled steel products will be manufactured only at the mill 370.

In the January-June period of the current year, Chusovoy Metallurgical Works produced 85,000 mt of crude steel, down 18 percent compared to the same period of last year, and 70,000 mt of rolled steel products, down 16 percent compared to January-June 2010. The products are mainly shipped to the domestic market.
