ChTPZ to supply 47,500 mt of LD pipes for Transneft’s BPS-2

One of the largest Russian pipe producers, ChTPZ Group, has announced that from November 2009 to April 2010 its subsidiary Chelyabinsk Tube Rolling Plant (ChTPZ) will deliver 47,500 mt of large diameter (LD) pipes for Russian state-owned oil transportation company Transneft.

Accordingly, ChTPZ's LD pipes of 1,067 mm diameter and 11 mm wall thickness made of K52/1 and K56/2 steel grades will be used by Transneft for the construction of Baltic Pipeline System-2 (BPS-2), the second trunk line of the Baltic Pipeline System.

In the second and third quarters of the current year, ChTPZ delivered 29,000 mt of LD pipes for Transneft's BPS-2 project.
