Russia-based steel pipe producer ChTPZ Group has announced that its Pervouralsky Novotrubny Works (PNTZ) has produced pipes with increased wall thickness in line with a customer's customized order.

The pipes are used by the customer, Omsktransmash (an Omsk-based member enterprise of Uralvagonzavod Corporation) for making chain tracks for vehicles. The order is unique in that the pipes must meet very strict parameter requirements set by Omsktransmash designers and in that additional testing of the product will take place.

The first batch of three metric tons of pipes was made at the pipe-drawing department of PNTZ early this year. Since the customer's specific demands were met in full, the plant went on to produce the pipes on an industrial scale. This year, around 100 mt are expected to be supplied.
