China’s steel sheet and plate exports down 4.5 percent in 2022

China’s steel sheet/plate exports totaled 42.98 million mt in 2022, down 4.5 percent year on year, with the declining pace slowing by 0.6 percentage points compared to that recorded in the first 11 months, according to the Chinese customs authorities.

In December alone, China exported 3.32 million mt of steel sheet/plate, up 3.6 percent year on year, while rising by 0.6 percent month on month.
