China's steel exports up 31.3 percent in Jan-Jun, slowing down in June

China's finished steel exports amounted to 43.583 million mt in the January-June period this year, increasing by 31.3 percent year on year, according to the latest data released by China's General Administration of Customs (GACC) on July 13. The annual pace of decrease has slowed down in January-June compared to 40.9 percent increase seen in January-May.

In the first six months this year, China imported 3.741 million mt of finished steel, down 35.2 percent year on year.   

In June alone, China’s finished steel exports and finished steel imports reached 7.508 million mt and 612,000 mt, down 10.1 percent and 3.0 percent month on month, while down 0.69 percent and down 22.53 percent, year on year, respectively.
