In the January-August period this year, China's coal imports (all types) totaled 310.19 million mt, up 3.4 percent year on year, according to the latest data released by China's General Administration of Customs (GACC).
In August alone, China's coal imports amounted to 42.09 million mt, down 1.5 percent month on month and decreasing by 1.5 percent year on year.
In the January-August period this year, China's coal exports (all types) totaled 4.17 million mt, down 10.1 percent year on year.
In August alone, China's coal exports amounted to 640,000 mt, down 17.0 percent month on month, while up 21.5 percent year on year.
